Yesterday I had my first flight with my new instructor andI have to say, I thought I was terribly upset about Kevin leaving until I met this guy!
He’s much more speedy and to the point. I feel like I have mastered power on and off stalls with him. Steep turns are already old news, and the approach to landing is so much different. He requires me to fly over the runway for a extra two hundred feet and keep the plane a few feet off the ground just to see what it feels like. He’s much younger, only 24, just got out of the Mass Maritime Academy with in the last few years and when I succeed in doing something well he hits me with a fist bump. Definitely feel more confident flying with this guy.
Anyhow, we were taking off on runway 24 yesterday, which is what Plymouth was favoring with the winds, and here comes this one guy form god knows where on final approach on runway 6. We got maybe 200 feet off the ground and we’re headed directly towards each other at 75 knots. Then my instructor takes the airplane and breaks a hard right to avoid the shit head and immediately gets on the radio telling him that runway 6 is not being used. What a dip shit. Did you check the weather report before trying to land?
